In the wake of many sexual abuse tragedies, the State of California passed AB-506. This law raises the expectations on California youth organizations for preventing and reporting child abuse. By working with ChurchWest, you’ll soon be on the road to compliance.
First, your ministry must implement a child safety plan compliant with AB-506. Get started with a sample child safety plan courtesy of the ChurchWest Risk Management Library.
Next, your ministry must register as an authorized requesting agency with the CA DOJ for Live Scan background checks. This applies to all employees and regular volunteers.
