What Churches Can Learn from 2012
I really love the new year! After celebrating Christmas, it just seems like everyone is in a brighter mood and ready to start fresh.
When we review all of the major news stories form 2012, there are some things that stand out as learning opportunities:
- Penn State & Jerry Sandusky’s Conviction: The Penn State board of directors and administration didn’t have a plan that was followed. Does your church? If not, here’s a great child protection resource for you.
- Healthcare Rulings: How will your church be impacted by this? What can you do now to prep and plan? We are monitoring the situation, as the final details are wrapping up in DC (and the courts), and will let you know what you should be doing in 2013 and what to expect in 2014. In the meantime, if you have immediate questions, please call and ask to speak with the benefits team. And plan to attend our first Lunch and Learn in February, featuring a top expert on the subject.
- Shootings in Colorado & Sandy Hook: Do you have a plan and are you prepared? If not, here’s a reminder of some great resources: 10 Church & School Security Resources
In the past year, our agency has hit a milestone – we have grown to 30 full time employees! The trust that you have placed in our agency, to work with your ministry, is something that we take very seriously.
